Remembering Earl Ma
Race Cars on a Different Scale.
With the redesign of the One18 Racing website, there were many pages and pieces of information that were updated or deleted. One page that I certainly wanted to update was this tribute page to our late friend, Earl Ma. A unique and talented person like Earl, deserves to be remembered for who he was and for what he meant to those who knew him. Although I knew him for only a few number of years, the impact he made on my life is still with me to this day.
Earl Ma passed away in his sleep during the early morning hours of Thursday June 7, 2007, due to complications from his ongoing battle with lung cancer. To his friends, we have all lost a fellow enthusiast, a talented artist, photographer and writer... but above all a kind, thoughtful, quirky and eccentric guy we knew as Earl " The Unions" Ma.
I have added several images and links to tribute pages that his friends have created, including a link to a Facebook page titled "Friends of Earl Ma".
- May the straights be long and fast... and the turns be quick and smooth, as you race up in heaven.
Earl... I'll miss you buddy.
Earl " The Unions " Ma
1971 - 2007
This was an idea, born of three friends, who wanted to do something for our friend, Earl Ma.
Lovingly created by Gary Pino, with the meticulous decal work of Jim Dolan, this car's initial intent was to do something to help lift our friend's spirits and to give something to a guy who was always giving to all his friends and acquaintances in the racing community.
Sadly, He succumbed to his battle with cancer before the car was completed, so this project instead became a tribute to our friend.
